Barack Obama - God's Choice?
Ecclesiastes 11:5
“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”
Israel's First King: During the time of Judges - when Samuel, a man of God who served his people Israel as a Judge and also a Seer, grew old, the people of Israel cried out to him saying, "You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a king to lead us such as all the other nations have।"
Their request displeased Samuel because he knew and appreciated God as his king and theirs; so he put their request before God. God responded by assuring him that the people were not rejecting him (Samual) as their leader, but God, (Himself) as their King and refuge, as was usual.
And God told Samual "Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do."
Samuel warned the people telling them that if they continued insisting on an earthly king to rule over them and fight their battles for them, that their new King would eventually rise up and come to take them, along with their sons and daughters, to be his slaves. And that he would take from the riches that God has provided them to have for himself and give to his friends and advocates.
The people refused to listen to Samuel and said "No! We want a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles."
So despite the fact that God was their King – God told Samuel to anoint Saul of Benjamin to act as King of Isreal. Later, when the popular choice got bad - went mad, and all that Samuel had warned came to pass, the people cried out to God. David eventually succeeded Saul as King after the house of Saul come to a tragic end.
Biblical Text: 1 Samuel 8:1-21; 1 Samuel 31:1-11

A great measuring mark for leaders - Timothy 3:1-13
Consider 2 Timothy 2:20
"In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble."
And Romans 9:21-22
“Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use? What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction?”
Should we compare the Bush/Chaney administration with that of a mad king - I think the analogy would stand. Stephen W. Carson, In his article: King Saul and President Bush, compared the Bush 2000 nomination to King Saul's anointing I Samuel 9:15–17
His viewpoint being that in regards to the implications and outright claims of some evangelical Bush supporters that President Bush was "willed by the Lord to be President - to act righteously in response to the atrocities of 9/11." - and that everything Bush does is justified by that fact - is a stretch not supported by biblical text.
"The fact that the Lord appoints someone to an office does not mean that person automatically succeeds in his mission. The scriptures are filled with kings, prophets, priests and even a Disciple of Jesus who were definitely called by the Lord but who then failed to do His will."
What if at the birth of George W. Bush, whose father was a political man, God decided to use the boy as an instrument of change. And God waited patiently as the boy grew and the time was right for the boy to step into the authority of office of President of the United States of America, and carelessly embrace every evil practice therein; so that by doing so every thing hidden in the dark was headlined in the media; so that the people of America could get so fed up with state of things that we are now willing to accept the help of a charismatic back man with promises of hope and change.
"No more politics as usual," he assures us. And we believe him and crave him and are willing to drive long distances and stand out in the rain to hear him speak, and to gather our pennies to send him in support of the dream.
The dream that seems to get closer and closer to becoming a reality at the end of each primary election. State by state, Barack Obama has won the past ten states by double digits since Super Tuesday in addition to winning the Global Democrat mail-in by a landslide. He has about 145 more pledged delegates than his oponant and the media is absolutely fasinated with him.
Questions: Did God Indorse the Bush Administration?

Nice Quote: "The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."--William Faulkner
For they yield so much power over our lives. Just look at how much our lives have changes over the past eight years for reference. If we are truly our neighbors keepers, how can we sit back and be content to not get involved while so many remain hungry and their numbers are being added to daily. In this current economy, which has gone from bad to worst over the past seven years - now has many who were considered middle class just a year or two ago are now finding themselves sleeping on the streets as a result of erroneous political decisions by our top politicians. We are deeply engrossed in a war with no known exit strategy or intention, against folks who were not our enemy prior to our invading their territory. Most Iraqian’s were not exactly fans of America (for valid reasons) however, facts seem to reveal that 911, the primary reason given for the invasion, was the responsibility of al-Qaida in Afganastan, not Iraq.
