WorkingAssets.com
Was established in 1985 to help busy people make a difference in the world through everyday activities like talking on the phone. Every time a customer uses one of Working Assets' donation-linked services (Long Distance, Wireless and Credit Card), the company donates a portion of the charges to nonprofit groups working to build a world that is more just, humane, and environmentally sustainable. To date, over $50 million has been raised for progressive causes.
The company also serves as a strong political force, dedicated to giving its customers the opportunity to speak out on critical public issues through its Web site and monthly phone bill.
Prayer - Never underestimate the power of prayer. Pray for those in positions of authority to affect issues of concern to make righteous decisions. (1 Timothy 2:1-6; 1 Chronicles 16:8-36)
Service - Write letters to community leaders and local legislators who are in positions of authority to make a difference. See our Act 4 Changes pages featuring messages from the Union of Concerned Scientist, Hillary Clinton, Schumer and also a letter from former ABC Journalist Walter Cronkite. (www.citizenredress.com)
- Volunteer time at a community resource that is doing something positive to make a difference or start one up if you have the time and resources to do so.
Support - Donate warm coats, clothes, toiletries, and etc to those in need; such as homeless shelters and those who have been affected by the various natural disasters which has taken place over the past few years in various parts of the world.
Donate funds to appropriate charities and social justice agencies whose philosophies are Christ-like (Such as www.HopeWorldWide.org).
